Dear Lance,

Thank you for the birthday present! It was a wonderful surprise.

Last Saturday, I was in the mountains with some of my friends. We were on a hike in the north of the country. The hike was my boyfriend’s idea. I was a little scared. The mountain was very high. My friend Sheila was worried. She doesn’t like high places. The others weren’t scared or worried. It was also cold, so it wasn’t much fun!

We’re now back at work. Some clients are in the office for an important meeting. I’ve got to go.
